The course includes 15 x 2.15 hour online LIVE coaching Labs. This is where you will be taught by our expert coaching faculty in an online live and interactive setting. You’ll apply what you’re learning in a safe environment, honing your skills so you’ll feel confident when working with real clients.

Surrounding yourself with your fellow Health Coach students will inspire and encourage you. These interactive sessions are where you will practice and share your experiences together and are an integral part of the PreKure Health Coaching training process and your success.

When does the Certificate start and finish?
The Health Coach Certificate starts as soon as you enrol and you'll have up to 12 months to complete it. The Certificate can be completed within six months with a weekly time commitment of approximately seven hours per week. There are six courses that make up the Certificate, and 15 x 2.15 hour online LIVE Coaching Labs PLUS 2 x Guest Labs and 2 x Practice Coaching Gyms.
What are the benefits of doing the Health Coach Certificate?
You’ll become a PreKure Health Coach ready to work as a Health Coach. You will be eligible to use the "PreKure Certified Health Coach' endorsement on graduating your class after meeting the assessment criteria. You will be eligible for Professional Membership to Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA) PreKure is recognised by medical professionals as being credible and of the highest standard. You will go on a personal discovery of transformation and gain the knowledge and tools of how to live your best life. You'll get the practical tools and resources you need to make your job as a Health Coach easier. You’ll learn the latest science as well as the art of coaching. You’ll learn and practice your coaching skills giving you confidence to teach other people how they too can live their best life.
Which courses make up the Certificate?
The Health Coach Certificate is made up of the following :
- Attend weekly or fortnightly LIVE 2.15 hour online and interactive labs to learn and practice your coaching. These are held in the evenings or during a weekday (classes dependent)
- Complete the six theory courses in your own time and at your own pace:

What happens in the Coaching Skills Labs?
This is where you will be taught by our coaching faculty in an online live and interactive setting. You’ll apply what you’re learning in a safe environment, honing your skills so you’ll feel confident when working with real patients and/or clients. Surrounding yourself with your fellow Health Coach students will inspire and encourage you. These interactive sessions are where you, as students, train and share your experiences together and are a really important part of the PreKure Health Coaching training process.
Can I go at my own pace?
Yes. You can do the certificate in your own time and at your own pace. The majority of the courses you will work on at a time that suits you, however there are 40 hours of LIVE tutorials (Coaching Labs) that will be scheduled mainly in the evenings and/or week day. Are there jobs for Health Coaches?
Yes. Health Coaches are employed in GP clinics, pharmacies, Governmental organisations, hospitals, insurance companies, corporate employers, and more. Alternatively, you can also start your own health coaching business. We provide ongoing support and advice to help our HCC graduates kick start their businesses., including client referrals and templated coaching programs. When you become a PreKure Health Coach, you become part of our extensive and connected, nurturing network.
Can I do the Health Coach Certificate even if I don’t plan on practicing as a Health Coach?
Yes. Many of our students go on a personal journey of discovery and transformation for themselves when studying to become a Health Coach. The skills you learn can be included in your everyday life and potentially in your current job role. How do I know if I will make a good Health Coach?
Are you passionate about health and wellbeing? Do you like to help other people and find it easy to build relationships? Are you a good listener? If so, health coaching could be for you! Health Coaches believe in people. They believe that people can change,and they bring optimism and efficiency to the change process.
As a Health Coach who is your typical client?
It really depends on what your particularity niche (as a health coach) is going to be. It is important to understand what unique strengths you have as a potential Health Coach are and then you must really understand who your ideal target market would be. Some examples of typical clients are:
- Middle-aged women going through perimenopause and struggling with weight, sleep, etc.
- Millennial women having a hard time finding balance in their lives
- Middle-aged men looking to lose weight and get fit
- Retired couples wanting to age well and stay off medication
- Cancer survivor wanting to stay in remission and be as healthy as possible
Is setting up my own Health Coach business achievable?
Absolutely yes. We recommend that you begin by doing this on a part-time basis first and then progress from there. We provide you with ongoing support and help in setting up your business including:
- how to set your business up, understanding your target market, and how to get clients
- ongoing access to our Faculty for email Q&A and support.
Has this course been assessed by NZQA for micro-credentialing?
Yes - The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has evaluated the Health Coach Certificate (Micro-credential) delivered by PreKure and has assessed it to be equivalent to 30 credits (300 notional learning hours) at Level 5 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
Is this Certificate recognised internationally?
We follow the International Coaches Federation (ICF) core competencies, definition of coaching and code of ethics. We are a recognised training provider for Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association (HCANZA). We are a recognised training provider for Canadian Health Coach Alliance. We are a recognised training provider for United Kingdom Health Coaches Association (UKHCA)
Do I have to be a health or medical professional to do the Health Coach Certificate?
No. There are no prior learning requirements or prerequisites to enter this Certificate.
What type of nutrition is taught in this Health Coach Certificate?
Nutrition training is a key part of our Health Coach Certificate. Students are trained in the fundamentals of nutritional science using the very latest science and thinking. PreKure does not give you 100 different nutrition theories and let you flounder around trying to work that out. We give you a comprehensive up-to-date university-level understanding of nutrition and then inform you of what works best, when and for whom - according to the latest science and practice.
Can I still enrol?
Yes! You can enrol at any time during the year with the 'live' coaching Labs scheduled at different times during the year. We have a few spaces left for February cohort. Please contact [email protected] to secure a seat in our next coaching Labs class. Class size limited to 40 students.
