When does this Health Science Certificate start and finish?
The Health Science Certificate can be started immediately. The courses that make up the Certificate are available for you to start and complete in your own time and at your own pace. You have 12 months to complete all 6 of the courses to gain your Health Science Certificate.
What are the benefits of doing the Certificate?

How long does it take to complete the Health Science Certificate?
The certificate takes approx six months on a part-time basis. Each course usually takes approx 15 hours of study, and then an additional 15 hours of recommended reading and reflective practice. You have 12 months in which to complete the 6 courses.
Can I go at my own pace?
Yes. You can do the certificate in your own time and at your own pace. You have 12 months to complete the 6 courses that make up the Certificate.
Can I do the Health Science Certificate to begin with and then upgrade to the Health Coach Certificate later?
Yes. PreKure offers two types of Certification.
(1) Health Science Certificate. This is the Certificate outlined on this page and it is designed for (1) those looking to upskill their personal knowledge in lifestyle medicine or (2) health professionals looking to get updated with the latest science and practise. We also offer:
(2) Health Coach Certificate - and this is designed for those looking to work as a health coach either in a GP clinic or in their own business. Has the Health Science Certificate been assessed by NZQA for micro-credentialing?
Yes - The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has evaluated the Health Coach Certificate (Micro-credential) delivered by PreKure and has assessed it to be equivalent to 30 credits (300 notional learning hours) at Level 5 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
Do I need any background or previous learning in the health field?
No. There is no prior learning required for entry into this Certificate.
Is this course recognised for Registered Exercise Professionals (REPs)?
Yes it is in New Zealand and we are in the process of gaining this for Australian students.
