When does this Health Certificate start and finish?
The courses that make up the Certificate are available for you to start immediately. You have 12 months to complete all 6 of the courses to gain your Health Certificate.
What are the benefits of doing the Certificate?
You’ll get the practical tools and resources you need to make your job as a Health Coach, GP, Nurse, Nutritionist, PT, mum/dad, or caregiver easier. You’ll learn the latest science and discover how to achieve sustainable behaviour change. You’ll discover the evidence base for preventive medicine. Enjoy more job satisfaction and see better health outcomes for your clients/patients who suffer from chronic conditions. Earn CPD and/or CME points for nurses, pharmacists, physio and more.
How long does it take to complete the Health Certificate?
The certificate takes approx six months on a part-time basis. Each course usually takes approx 15 hours of study, and then an additional 15 hours of recommended reading and reflective practice. You have 12 months in which to complete the 6 courses.
Can I go at my own pace?
Yes. You can do the certificate in your own time and at your own pace. You have 12 months to complete the 6 courses that make up the Certificate.
Can I do the Health Certificate to begin with and then upgrade to the Health Coach Certificate later?
Yes. PreKure offers two types of Certification.
(1) Health Certificate. This is the Certificate outlined on this page and it is designed for (1) those looking to upskill their personal knowledge in lifestyle medicine or (2) health professionals looking to get updated with the latest science and practise. We also offer:
(2) Health Coach Certificate - and this is designed for those looking to work as a health coach either in a GP clinic or in their own business. If this is you, then please go to www.prekure.com for more information. To date, we have had GPs, nurses, full-time mums, gardeners, IT specialists, and more enrolling for this certificate.

Is the Health Certificate NZQA accredited?
Yes -The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has evaluated the Health Certificate (Micro-credential) delivered by PreKure and has assessed it to be equivalent to 30 credits (300 notional learning hours) at Level 5 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
Do I need any background or previous learning in the health field?
No. There is no prior learning required for entry into this Certificate.
Is this course recognised for Registered Exercise Professionals (REPs)?
Yes it is in New Zealand and we are in the process of gaining this for Australian students.
